CYANOTYPE PRINTS
My cyanotype prints have been a passion since covid lockdown. The idea that I could document the cycle of seasonal blooms in my garden, utilizing this historic process of printing in the sun, while photographing with my iPhone was freeing. This creative freedom allows me to capture the ethereal beauty of flowers, inviting viewers to pause and reflect on natures gifts.
SMALL COLLAGES
In these small collages, nature serves as my primary canvas. Gathering and printing organic materials and allowing their inherent qualities to inspire my compositions. The interaction between the background and the Mermaids, Muses and Nymphs with garden flowers invite a dialog with the viewer and the art.
LARGE COLLAGES
In my larger cyanotype collages I see my work as an exploration of change, both in materials and in perception. Utilizing unusual papers and techniques for my background wallpaper and introducing hand tinted colors to some gives a modern edge to a vintage process. Creating an interesting conversation between unique antique vessels, and elegant floral arrangements that ultimately shapes the outcome of the pieces.
ENCAUSTIC PAINTINGS
My luminescent encaustic paintings focus on the vessel as a voluptuous form. The cyanotype prints in the wallpaper background, develop a dialect to frame or situate the dimensional vessel. Each painting has a language of its own utilizing color and pattern to tell its story. Combining to historical processes to give a vintage modern feel to these sensual mediums so beautiful to the eye.
